Controls

W/Up arrow key: Move your vehicle forwards

S/Down arrow key: Move your vehicle in reverse

A/Left arrow key: Rotate/tilt your vehicle counter-clockwise

D/Right arrow key: Rotate/tilt your vehicle clockwise

R: Reset your vehicle topside (for use when you get your vehicle flipped beyond return)

Space bar: Interaction (used to pick up power up and interact with the beggar)

E: Use your power up

Goal of the game

Get your vehicle to the finish line as fast as possible and as much coin as you can collect. Along the way, your vehicle will be challenged with different terrains as well as random events. These random events will impact your gameplay, beneficially or otherwise.

Characters/Vehicles:

  • Motor bebek
  • Esemka
  • Delman

Random events

  • Smog: Makes terrain less visible by giving a smog/smoke overlay on the screen
  • Flood: Getting your vehicle stuck in the flood will decrease its speed
  • Earthquake: Shakes the screen
  • Hand of God (Beggar): Giving a coin to the beggar will provide you with a speed boost for a limited amount of time.

Power ups

A power up may spawn along the track. You will first see a box with a question mark on it. Interacting with it to get a power up at random. Currently, the following power ups are available:

  • Instant noodle: One time speed boost.

Levels

At the current stage of the game, there are two levels available. A rural and city level. They have their unique terrain, background, and music.

Construct2 Proposal

After discussing the idea for the game with my group, we have decided to make a side-scroller game. Of course, with the game being based around Indonesian culture, we have also taken that into consideration in how we would design our game.

Our plan is to make a two-player racing game. In which the players will control a vehicle that is based on Indonesian culture. In the game, there will also be random events that is reflective of certain aspects from Indonesia, whether it be bad, or good.

We see this as an opportunity to both improve our abilities, and also create an honest perspective on Indonesia.
